The honest version
Most “SoulCycle referral code” pages imply you will save money by using someone’s link. You will not. SoulCycle is explicit that a referred friend’s first class is not complimentary — the reward is one free class for the referrer, earned for every two friends who sign up through their link and actually ride. What genuinely lowers a new rider’s cost is the new-rider pricing (a $25 first ride, or $89 for two weeks unlimited) plus the free first shoe rental.
So use a friend’s link if you have one — it costs you nothing and gets them closer to a free class — but buy the New Rider or Starter pack either way.
How Spread the SOUL works
Every SOUL account has one. It lives on the Spread the SOUL page inside My Account on the SoulCycle site, or at the bottom of the “my soul” tab in the SoulCycle app. There is no code to type — the link is the mechanism.
The account has to be created using your link. A friend who already has a SOUL account, or who signs up separately and mentions you afterwards, does not count.
The class must be booked through the SoulCycle app, the website, or in the studio. Classes bought through third-party platforms do not qualify.
SoulCycle emails you when a complimentary class is unlocked, and you redeem it from that email or from your Spread the SOUL page. There is no cap on how many you can earn.
- A complimentary class expires 30 days after it is redeemed, and SoulCycle does not extend it.
- It can be used at any SoulCycle studio except the Hamptons and Palm Beach.
- Only paid classes count — a friend riding on their own free credit does not unlock yours.

Shoe rental is $4 a visit and your first rental is free. New-rider packs require you to be new to SOUL — the two-week unlimited pack is limited to riders with fewer than two lifetime rides.
The cheapest way to take your first SoulCycle class
- Riding once to try it: the $25 New Rider class. It is $17 less than the $42 walk-up rate and the shoes are free, so the whole first visit is $25.
- Fairly sure you will keep going: the $89 two-week unlimited pack. Four rides puts you at $22 a class, six rides at under $15 — the lowest per-class price SoulCycle sells. The catch is the 14-day clock.
- Want to spread it out: the $75 Starter Pack — three classes at $25 each with a 30-day window instead of 14.
- Past your new-rider window: packs only beat single classes at volume ($35–$39 a class), and Soul Renew at $259 for 8 classes a month works out to $32.38 a class if you genuinely ride twice a week.
A referral link changes none of these numbers for you. It is worth using a friend’s link anyway — free to you, and it moves them toward a class — but do not wait to find one before booking.
Referring your own friends: is it worth the effort?
One free class per two riders you bring in is, at the $42 single-class rate, about $21 of value per friend. That is a real reward by boutique-fitness standards — but the two conditions are what trip people up: the friend has to create their account through your link, and they have to pay for and take a class booked through SOUL’s own channels.
The practical move is to send the link before your friend has ever opened the app, and to point them at the $25 New Rider class in the same message — a cheap first ride is what gets them through the door, and it is also what unlocks your credit.
