Mercor Referral Code 2026:
20% of What They Earn, Up to a Cap
Mercor is not a store, so there is no discount here. It is a marketplace that hires experts for AI work, and its referral program pays the referrer a share of what the person they referred actually earns — which makes the fine print about caps the whole story.
Apply to Mercor through this link. Nothing about your application, rate or work changes.

The honest version
Mercor markets referrals as “earn $250–$15,000” per referral, with the range depending on role type and seniority. The mechanism underneath is narrower than that headline: you earn 20% of your referral’s earnings, including hourly pay and bonuses, until you hit an Earnings Cap. That cap is set by the first offer the referral accepts that is not a one-time-payment listing — on hourly contracts it is calculated as 4× the hourly rate; on deliverable or task-based work it is set explicitly in the contract terms. A referral who only ever takes one-time-payment listings earns the referrer nothing and never sets a cap at all.
The other thing worth saying plainly, because no other page in this cluster has to: the person being referred gets nothing extra. There is no bonus, no faster review, no higher rate. A referral link on Mercor is worth using because the platform is worth applying to, not because the link improves your terms — and if someone you know already has a link, theirs is as good as ours.
How Mercor talent referrals works
The referral code is carried in the t.mercor.com URL and attaches to your signup. Only the initial referrer qualifies — a candidate already referred by someone else cannot be re-attributed.
Signups alone never pay. Mercor matches qualified candidates to opportunities across engineering, research, legal, medical and other domains.
The referrer’s earnings begin when the referral is hired and starts billable work. The 6-hour onboarding work trial does not count toward referral earnings.
Referral payouts release on Wednesdays and Fridays at 12:00 PM PT, paid through Stripe (or Wise where Stripe is unavailable), after the referral is paid.
- You earn 20% of the referral’s earnings — hourly pay and bonuses — until the Earnings Cap is reached.
- The cap is set by the first non-one-time-payment offer the referral accepts: 4× the hourly rate on hourly contracts, or as written in the contract for deliverable work.
- One-time-payment listings pay nothing and do not establish a cap; the 6-hour onboarding work trial is excluded too.
- Only the initial referrer qualifies, and the candidate must not have been previously referred by anyone else.
- Self-referral or multi-accounting bans both accounts. Referral disputes give you 5 business days to provide evidence of prior contact.
How a Mercor referral is actually calculated
Checked September 13, 2026. From Mercor’s published referral policy rather than the marketing page. The cap, not the 20%, is what decides what a referral is worth.
| Contract type | What the referrer earns | Earnings cap | When it starts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hourly contract new members | 20% of hourly pay and bonuses | 4× the hourly rate | First billable work |
| Deliverable / task-based contract new members | 20% of earnings | Set explicitly in the contract terms | First billable work |
| One-time-payment listing | Nothing | Sets no cap at all | — |
| 6-hour onboarding work trial | Nothing | — | — |
Because the cap is fixed by the first qualifying offer the referral accepts, a referral who starts on a low-rate contract and later moves to a senior one is capped by the first. Mercor’s advertised $250–$15,000 range reflects role seniority, not a guarantee.
What this is worth, and to whom
- If you are the one applying: a referral link costs you nothing and changes nothing about your pay. Use a friend’s if you have one; use ours if you do not.
- If you are referring: the money is in people who get hired onto ongoing hourly or deliverable contracts, not in volume. Signups without hires pay zero.
- Watch the first offer. The cap is locked in by the first non-one-time-payment offer your referral accepts — that single event determines your ceiling for that person.
- Do not blanket-share. Self-referral and multi-accounting get both accounts banned, and a disputed referral can be permanently removed from your account.
There is no coupon, discount or sign-up bonus anywhere in this program — any site advertising a “Mercor promo code” is describing something that does not exist.
Referring your own network
Your referral link is in your Mercor account; you can also upload a network list or recommend candidates directly against open roles, and track hiring progress and payouts in one place.
The realistic shape of this: one referral who lands a long-running hourly contract is worth more than dozens of signups, because earnings only accrue once billable work starts and stop at a cap derived from that first contract. Referring people whose skills match roles Mercor is actively hiring for is the only version of this that pays.
