The honest version
ClassPass rewards both sides, but on very different clocks. The friend’s bonus credits show up at signup, on top of the 14-day free trial. The referrer waits: per ClassPass’s own refer-a-friend terms, the reward arrives in the referrer’s next subscription month beginning after the friend’s tenth day of a paid subscription — so a friend who trials and cancels earns the referrer nothing.
The other thing worth knowing before you count credits: a credit is not a class. Class costs in credits vary by studio, time slot and demand, and ClassPass prices plans differently by market — New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles run materially above the national list. Treat the numbers below as the list price, then check your own city in the app.
How ClassPass Refer-A-Friend works
The bonus credits attach at signup. Joining directly and entering a code later generally will not backfill them.
Open the app and look up the classes you would actually take. Credit costs differ per studio and per time slot, which is the only way to know what a plan is worth to you.
Plans run 25, 48, 68 and 100 credits a month. Most people overbuy on month one — the smaller plan plus a mid-cycle top-up is usually cheaper than the next tier up.
Not at signup, and not during the trial. If the friend cancels inside the trial, no reward is issued.

Per-credit figures are list price divided by credits — useful for comparing tiers, not a per-class price. A boutique class in a major market often costs far more credits than a gym session, which is where ClassPass math either works or does not.
Getting the most out of a ClassPass referral
- Always start from a referral link. The bonus credits are free to you and there is no downside — it is the one program here where the friend clearly gains.
- Spend trial credits on the expensive classes. Trial credits do not roll into your paid month, and premium studios cost the most credits, so that is where the free ones go furthest.
- Start on Starter. Moving up a tier mid-month is easy; discovering you bought 100 credits for a month you rode four times is not.
- Check the per-credit math against drop-ins. If your two or three regular studios cost 12–15 credits a class, compare that against their own class packs before committing.
Codes circulating on aggregator sites are usually just someone’s referral link with the tracking stripped — same bonus, no attribution.
Referring your own friends
