What the Card Invite Link Actually Gets You
Bilt has no promo code to type. Card referrals run on personal invite links like bilt.com/card?invite=…, the person applying gets exactly Bilt’s public welcome offer, and the referral reward goes to the referrer. Here is what each card pays and how to make sure the link actually tracks.

The honest version
A Bilt referral link does not get you a better offer. Bilt’s referral terms pay the referrer and give the applicant nothing extra: you get the same welcome bonus bilt.com shows everyone — $100 of Bilt Cash on the no-annual-fee Blue, $200 of Bilt Cash on the $95 Obsidian, and on the $495 Palladium $300 of Bilt Cash at approval plus 50,000 Bilt Points and Gold Status after $4,000 of everyday spend in 90 days (rent and mortgage payments do not count toward it). Use a friend’s link if you have one, since it costs you nothing, but do not go hunting for a “better” Bilt code. There isn’t one.
What genuinely matters is attribution. Bilt only credits a referral when the applicant clicks the link and completes the application in the same browser session on the same device, and its terms list what silently breaks that: ad blockers or tracking prevention, private or incognito windows, switching devices, clearing cookies, or leaving the application and coming back through a direct URL. Open the link right before you apply and finish in one sitting.
And if you want the card for rent points, know that Bilt Card 2.0 no longer pays a flat 1X on rent. Under the default Housing-only option your rent multiplier depends on everything else you put on the card that billing cycle — 0.5X once other spending reaches 25% of your rent, up to 1.25X when it matches your rent, and a flat 250 points if it stays under 25%.
How Bilt’s card referral program works
The referral code rides in the URL (?invite=…). Click it on the device you will apply from, with ad blockers and tracking prevention off and not in a private window.
Pick Blue, Obsidian or Palladium and complete the application without closing the tab or navigating away. Bilt says there is no credit score impact to apply and see if you are approved.
A referral only counts once the card is approved and opened, and the account must still be open and in good standing when the reward is issued. If you are declined, Bilt says you can reapply in 45 days.
Bilt credits the referral reward within 30 days of every condition being met. It will not tell the referrer who applied or whether they were approved — the referrer only sees the points.
- Welcome bonuses are one per person across all three cards: they exclude anyone who holds, has held, or has already received a welcome bonus on a Bilt Card 2.0 issued by Column N.A.
- Bilt may show some applicants an alternate welcome offer in the app or on its website; if you get one, its terms replace the standard offer.
- If more than one referral link is used, credit goes to the link on the application that was approved, and Bilt’s attribution decision is final.
- Palladium’s 50,000 points typically post 6–8 weeks after the $4,000 spend is met and the 60-day return window has passed. Closing a new card within 30 days lets Bilt offset the welcome bonus.
- Referrers can earn on at most 50 successful referrals per lifetime, referral points do not count toward Elite status, and Bilt may report them on a 1099-MISC.
What each Bilt Card gives a referred applicant

All three cards carry a 10% intro APR on new purchases for 12 billing cycles, then 26.74%–34.74% variable; no foreign transaction fees; and no transaction fee on rent or mortgage paid through Bilt. Bilt Cash expires on December 31 each year except for up to $100 that rolls over. The cards are issued by Column N.A. and serviced by Cardless.
Which Bilt Card to apply for
- Renters who just want rent points: Blue. $0 annual fee and $100 of Bilt Cash on approval. The catch under Bilt Card 2.0 is that rent points follow your other spending — on $2,000 of rent you need $2,000 of other purchases in the billing cycle for the full 1.25X (2,500 points), and under $500 you get the 250-point floor.
- Big grocery or dining spend: Obsidian. $95 a year for 3X on your choice of dining or grocery (grocery capped at $25,000 a year), 2X on other travel, a $100 Bilt Travel hotel credit paid as two $50 halves, and $200 of Bilt Cash up front.
- Travelers who will use the credits: Palladium. $495 a year against a $400 Bilt Travel hotel credit (two $200 halves), $200 of Bilt Cash every year and Priority Pass — it only pays for itself if you book hotels through Bilt Travel. It is also the only card with a points bonus: 50,000 points is $1,100 at The Points Guy’s 2.2-cent valuation (which Bilt quotes on its own card page), or $750 at a more conservative 1.5 cents.
- Choose once. Welcome bonuses are one per person across the whole Bilt Card 2.0 family, so the first card you open is the only welcome offer you will get. Moving up to a higher card later may come with an upgrade bonus, but never a second welcome bonus.
There is no Bilt promo code that beats the public offer. What circulates as a “Bilt code” is someone’s invite link — it changes who earns the referral reward, not what you get.
Referring your own friends
You do not need a Bilt Card to refer anyone. Bilt’s referral terms only require an active Bilt Rewards membership in good standing, and the link is in the Wallet tab of the Bilt app. The reward is set per offer and can be personalized by card type and account history, so check what your own app shows: referrers have reported 2,500 points per approved card as the standing offer, with boosts to 5,000–10,000 points during September 2026.
Bilt requires you to tell a friend, before you share the link, that you may earn a reward if they are approved and what counts as a successful referral. Then tell them the part that decides whether you get paid: open the link on the device they will apply from and finish in one sitting. You can earn on at most 50 successful referrals over the life of your account, and those points do not count toward Elite status.
